Discussion #1:
What movie you have recently seen made you laugh, cry, or sigh with delight? What was the best part of this movie? What made you love it?
I saw Must Love Dogs last night and I was delighted completely! The family interactions were hilarious and very well timed. The emotional byplay was delightful and they didn’t overdo the male/female stereotypes. There was fairness to both sexes here and no bashing so much as hinting at complete confusion on both sides. (smirk) I laughed quite a lot and the storyline made me feel a part of the characters lives. I couldn’t help but comment on the interactions, so if you watch this with someone be sure they are understanding about talking during the movie..cause you will. I sure did. I loved that when I told John Cusack to look back out loud..he actually did!! Yay director for adding that bit, cause I loved it! The addition of Yates and “Brown Penny” made me completely happy!
Discussion #2:
What music are you listening to lately?
I have completely lost my mind over Sarah Bareilles, I have been listening to her for a few months now and each time I do I hear something new I missed the first time. I love the poetic play on words in her songs. My three favorites? “Bottle It up” “Tread Water” and “Love Song”.

What Art are you currently looking at and what do you enjoy most about the artists work?
I am currently enjoying Winslow Homers works. His positive attitude and his boldness with regard to his subjects is wonderful to behold. At a time when showing black women as beautiful and real people was not done, in fact in most portrayals of the time period blacks were generally portrayed as insulting caricatures. Homer was the only Major artist to feature African Americans through the reconstruction years and this was not only done well by him, but done with gentleness and a real vision as to who these people really were inside. He also refused to paint women as less than real, allowing silhouettes and real body shapes to cover his canvas, an act for which he received much criticism. I like Winslow Homers work very much and I am hoping to take out a book on his work and see what else he has done.
Ok, now it’s your turn! Let me hear your thoughts!

Hey, Bekki… I love cross stitch too! You’ve done some beautiful work. When I was pregnant with my son, I spent the last two trimesters cross stitching a blanket for him. I’ve done some other stuff that I was quite proud of, but I’ve given it all away as gifts.
Thanks for sharing more of your talent with us.
