I am doing my bit for charity soon, when I get my account working properly, I need to call the bank and arrange with them to create some way for any donations to go directly to the cause I have chosen. That way I can show clear transparency in my actions. I have chosen to do my charity as one of the support the children charities, whereby they write a letter telling you about themselves. I thought it would be a great idea to post the letters on a page on my blog so that others can see the results of the giving they do. Of course, I will need to get the bank account actually on the paypal account in order for donations to actually go somewhere. I need to call the bank first however…(writes that down on to-do list). Ok, since I have begun might as well list all the charity to-do’s here:
-
Call bank and set up charity funnel thingy to the charity so I never actually have the money in my possession for more than the time it takes to call a bank. (will have to wait to do this tomorrow…I need a dern phone card)
-
Click on and learn about the charity I have chosen. It is this one: World Vision (I believe two of my peeps mentioned the same charity and said it was considered very reputable.)
-
Send out massive e-mails to friends and peeps and beg them (like a dog) to post my donate link to their blog with a small explanation and/or link back to my site.
-
Email creative types who own shops online and might actually enjoy placing my poems on objects for sale. (Vintage cards, calenders…who knows what all)
-
Beg like a shameless hussy for creative ideas from anyone who will share.
-
Pray that there are people out there who like my poetry enough to actually buy it for $2.
